What does it mean to be an Ignite teacher?
It means teaching to friends and fellow students and it also means learning and growing along with the students because Ignite has so much to offer in self-improvement.
Why do you love to teach yoga or what do you love about teaching yoga?
I love how much I learned about myself from having teachers who loved teaching me. Having a strong community around me at Ignite helped to pull me up from a pretty dark place and I am honored to play a part in anyone else’s rise up.
Where can we find you on your mat?
You will find me on my mat several times a week at any of the many classes and workshops offered by Ignite. My favorite class at Ignite is ZEN because I really enjoy now connecting to my body through breathe and stillness I also enjoy time on my mat in Yellow Springs at House of Aum.
What’s your greatest adventure?
It was traveling to Aruba to practice with one of my personal gurus, Rachel Brathen. Her lessons on loving and letting go truly speak to my heart.
If you could choose a second home location, where would it be?
It would be in Maui, Hawaii. I married my husband in Maui and felt such a connection to the island on our honeymoon. I dream of living there some day in the future and teaching yoga on the beach!!
Where do you feel most at home?
For now though, I feel most at home in my own home with my husband and our 4 dogs. Happiness to me is the simple things, like feeling safe and happy in a cozy home filled with dogs and love.
What’s one thing you know to be true?
I know that to truly heal, you must feel. You must feel it to heal it. The only way out is through. This I know to be true.
